2017 Health Plan Open Enrollment
Thank you for your participation in the EIAHealth Program through GSRMA. We are proud to be able to provide employee health plans with stable and predictable rates to our members. Because of its stability and its competitive rates, the Program continues to attract new members, which only increases our ability to keep rates competitive.
You will see a few changes for the 2017 plan year as we are moving to a different Third Party Administrator (TPA). Businesssolver will replace Employee Benefit Specialists (EBS) effective October 1, 2016, for the administration of our accounts. We are very excited for the change as it will aide in the efficiency and quality of the service we provide. However, because of this change, our members may note the following changes:
- Your district’s administration of COBRA may change. If your employees pay EBS directly for their COBRA products, they will need to start paying Businessolver. A letter will be sent to your COBRA participants from Businessolver notifying them of the change and providing them with a billing coupon book. However, you may still get questions from those participating under COBRA.
- Ancillary products will now be billed in advance. For those members with ancillary coverage such as dental and vision, billing for those products will change from “in arrears” to “in advance”. To make the transition, on October 1st, we will send invoices for October’s ancillary coverage. On October 15th, we will include billing for November’s ancillary coverage with the regular billing for medical coverage. Of course, this change will only affect districts in our ancillary programs.
Open enrollment begins October 1st as well. The open enrollment period is from October 1 through October 31, 2016. If you are interested in changing your employer plan selection, this must be done during the open enrollment period. Employees wishing to change coverage for themselves or their dependents without a qualifying event must do so during the annual open enrollment period. All changes made during the open enrollment period become effective January 1, 2017.
Renewal plan rates, summaries and other helpful materials will be downloaded to your ShareFile account shortly. If you are having troubles accessing ShareFile or would like hard copies of these files, please contact our office for guidance.
