California passes emergency rule for outdoor workers exposed to wildfire smoke

California Occupational Safety and Health Standards Board recently passed an emergency regulation for outdoor employees exposed to wildfire smoke. Employers will be required to provide respirators to workers exposed to unhealthy air. The new requirements specifically address fine particulate matter from wildfires.
