California passed several anti-harassment laws in 2018. Specifically, SB 1343 requires employers with 5 or more employees to provide training to all employees (both supervisory and on-supervisor) by January 1, 2020.
The new law requires employers with 5 or more employees conduct two hours of mandatory training for supervisors and one hour of mandatory training for non-supervisors. Part-time, temporary as well as independent contractors are included in the minimum count of 5 employees. New supervisors must complete the training within 6 month of assuming position and every two years thereafter.

GSRMA will continue to offer compliant Harassment (and Ethics!) training for our membership again during the spring of 2019. Look for the training dates to be announced early in 2019. As always, GSRMA is here to help your entity train on this important topic in 2019 so compliance can be achieved by January 1, 2020. If you have any questions in the meantime, please contact GSRMA Loss Prevention Department.
