On Nov. 4th, Federal OSHA announced that they had approved their COVID-19 Emergency Temporary Standard(ETS). States have 30 days to comply, or update their own ETS to be at least as effective as the Federal OSHA ETS.

California was one of the first states to adopt a COVID-19 ETS, but will have to revise theirs to meet some of the new standards set forth at the federal level. Most notably, the Federal ETS includes a vaccine mandate for employers with 100 or more employees.

There is much to disseminate in the 490 page ETS, and we will continue to monitor and provide updates as they happen. Please reach out to our Member Services Department if you have questions about how this may affect your district.
