California passed several anti-harassment laws in 2018. Specifically, SB 1343 requires employers with 5 or more employees to provide training to all employees (both supervisory and on-supervisor) by January 1, 2020.
The new law requires employers with 5 or more employees conduct two hours of mandatory training for supervisors and one hour of mandatory training for non-supervisors. Part-time, temporary as well as independent contractors are included in the minimum count of 5 employees. New supervisors must complete the training within 6 month of assuming position and every two years thereafter.
