The Interactive Process is a requirement of the California Fair Employment and Housing Act, and is triggered by an employee who suffered a work-related or non-work related injury or illness and has requested a reasonable accommodation. All California employers with 5 or more employees are required to reasonably accommodate their employees upon request.

In larger organizations, this would be handled by the HR Department, but for our smaller organizations, being faced with the Interactive Process can be daunting. In efforts to aid members, our excess carriers PRISM, partnering with Patricia Eyres of Eyres Law Group, have developed an Interactive Process Manual to help aid and guide employers who are faced with reasonable accommodation requests.

This document is PASSWORD PROTECTED as a great deal of effort went into the development of it. So please give us a call or email and we will be happy to provide you with the password.

Additionally, I did want to remind all of you that you are able to receive assistance with your reasonable accommodation requests via our HR Hotline, again hosted by the Eyres Law group.

We hope that this manual becomes another valuable tool in your HR toolkit. Please let us know if you have any questions and again, reach out to us for the password.
